American history contains an abundance of mysterious accounts of strange monsters lurking in the darkness of the New World. These beasts, whether factual or imagined, reflect the darkest fears and latent desires inherent in American society.
What is it about unconquered spaces that frighten and captivate us? Tales of elusive, unknown creatures stalking the forests have been ever present in American folklore. These crypto-zoological creatures not only spark interests and fascinations for their inherent mysteries, but also possess the romantic power to teach us lessons about the environment and ourselves.
